“Materials Design for Future”
Our laboratory aims to create key materials that contribute to solving energy and environmental problems through fundamental research on the construction of functional material design methods that integrate first-principles calculations and information science.
Data-driven materials informatics technology is expected to accelerate the discovery of innovative materials and their implementation in society. However, obtaining big data in materials science is not easy.
In materials science, we have knowledge of physical chemistry built up over many years, and many physical properties can be predicted deductively from basic principles. First-principles calculation is a typical example. We are exploring new material exploration methods that minimize the gap of the time and space scale between materials and device/industrial implementation by integrating first-principles calculations and information science from various perspectives.
